Part II
Second Day,
Do You Know Bangladesh City?
Tue, 05th of
June 2012
No day without waiting for our guide, it was twice we waited for our guide in
front of Brayat dormitory and it made us be bored. If we went to Borobudur
early, but the problem was we need our guide to enter Borobudur temple. Without
our guide maybe we couldn’t enter. As usually we entered from seventh gate, we
went there on foot and we paid nothing to enter.
When we arrived in front of Borobudur temple, we took
picture together, we separated. We got around Borobudur, hunted foreigners, but
it was not our lucky. We didn’t find foreigners until we gave up. We were
confused, we had got around and we found nothing. Lately we found a foreigner
from Bangladesh. When we said we were English student and we were practicing
our language he so appreciated.
We accompanied him from Rupadhatu level up to Arupadhatu level. We asked about
his country, education system, tourism resort, weather and transportation there
but we didn’t asked about scholarship there.
Education in Bangladesh is near same with Indonesia but, in Bangladesh Primary
school only five years (in Indonesia is as like Elementary school), secondary
school five years (in Indonesia is junior high school) and High secondary
school is two years (in Indonesia is senior high school) He said. Oh... Yeah
his name is Reza.
The weather there is same with Indonesia. Those dry and wet seasons. Than other
that we talked about tourism resort, there is a famous beach there, maybe it’s
same with Kuta beach if in Indonesia, and about the transportation there,
actually there was water/river transportation there, they use boat to be
transportation but now is seldom, they move to land transportation like bus,
train and others.
We were very enjoying it. He is so friendly, almost every angel he asked my
help to take some pictures, so I did it with happy.
In the last our conversation he asked us about the payment for some souvenirs,
but actually I didn’t think so about it, I don’t know much about it. Then he
said to us, “actually you should know about much information here, so if there
is some foreigners ask to you about it, you can help them and they will
remember you sometimes, and recall you because of your help last time”.
The second foreigner that we met came from Australia, his name is Chris. But we
didn’t talked with him, because he said he was busy. In fact he has been live
in Jakarta for about three years, and he can speak Indonesian too but because
we needed to study our English he never speak by Indonesian. He said “your
English is very good, you don’t need to practice again!” than he went
away.
It was not our lucky we had gotten around Borobudur, but we just found two
foreigners who were not busy. But tomorrow we have to be better and do our
best. We promise! We have been staying here for two days. And we have visited
Borobudur and all of museum there.
Nice holiday and amazing outing programme!
Third Day of
SOP
Wed, 06th of
June 2012
Today we went at 07.30 a.m. we left our guide, but that was not because they so
long time, but one of them was getting sick so they couldn’t accompany/guide us
to practice our English at Borobudur temple.
When we arrived in Borobudur temple we replayed our intention to focus in our
study English. Than we didn’t think to get up the temple, we turned right from
the entrance than we directly got the foreigners. When they walked in Kamadhatu
level we chased them and we got them to the park.
They had been stayed here for three days. They were a student at a university
in Swedia, but they got the scholarship student exchange in Hongkong
University.
Their names were Linn and Charlotte. We didn’t talked for a long time, because
they said would directly go to Dieng Hill.
The second foreigner was from Texas US/American, the name was Joe Amick. He was
studying in Texas University at politic economy faculty. He had been studies at
doctorate program.
His wife from Jogjakarta and he had a daughter. Actually he had often gone to
Indonesia he ever go to Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and other places. But that
was the first time he went to Borobudur temple. And he could speak a little of
Indonesian.
Fourth Day, Getting Sick and Foreigners!
Thru, 7th of
June 2012
Today was not too fun because my body was not too health, my stomach was
diarhea. So I didn’t get foreigner at all at the morning. I just sat down and
went to the toilet to throw my rubbish from my stomach. Up to half pass nine I
had not gotten any foreigner yet.
After that I walked around the temple and got down by myself, without my
friends. At the second floor of the temple, still alone. I saw a couple of
foreigners, than I thought to take it, but I just alone, so I called Firdaus.
He was not my partners, because I was separated with him long time ago. We
walked to them, under the tree. We great them and acquainted, apparently they had
just come. We asked them, ”Have you walked around this temple?” but
their comprehension was : We asked them to walk around the temple. Willy nilly
we accompanied them to walk around the temple.
They came from France; they had just finished their study in Grenoble Ecole De
Management University. Their name was Antonie and Gell, they got the student
exchange scholarship in Hong Kong University. The system education at
university in France was different with Indonesia. Over there in every faculty
or Department was different faculty. There was four season there.
Wednesday and Thursday we went to Borobudur without our guide. But in these
days were different on Wednesday we got many foreigners and on Thursday were
contradictory. We got a little bit of foreigner.
On Wednesday when our guide was sick and couldn’t accompany us we got many
foreigners. We made conversation for a long time with foreigners who came from
Bangladesh, Sweden, and England etc. And Thursday was contradictory because I
just got four foreigners in a meeting and Sufyan got two French foreigners in a
meeting. It will be interested if we tell you one by one. I begin from
Thursday.
Some friends said Miss Lulu was sick, so our guider couldn’t accompany us. It
had two days we went to Borobudur on foot without our guider. We were so happy
we thought we could find and make conversation with many foreigners. We were so
surprised when we arrived in Borobudur. We couldn’t find many foreigners as
yesterday. Until half past nine we found no foreigners. We took around from
lower terraces up to upper terraces. We were so bored when the sunlight burned
us and weather became hot.
I was separated from Sufyan when he wanted to take a bowl, he left Adib and I.
Adib was separated from Imam. From the first time Adib and Imam seldom hunted
foreigners together.
Adib and I took around during my trip around Borobudur temple I found no
foreigners. Finally I met Sufyan in Rupadhatu level; we took picture by bored
style. We continued to walk around when we was satisfied in taking picture.
Actually we found many foreigners but, all of foreigners were busy.
We had arrived Arupadhatu level, I wanted to know Kunto Bimo statue. After
taking a rest in sixth terraces we went up to look for Kunto Bimo Statue. When
we had known the palace of Kunto Bimo Statue we got down coincidentally our
friends sat in sixth terraces.
We approached them, they looked so bored I amused them, I tried to explain
about Arupadhatu, I talked about Nirvana, Pariniruana and Mahaparinirvana,
stupas, statues in stupas, square holes and diamond hall, and Kunto Bimo
statue.
Finally I practiced my English with Dori my friend from EDS. I showed him Kunto
Bimo statue which if we have some wish we can pray by touching this statue. We
talked about stupas Menoreh hill and all about Borobudur by English. We stopped
our conversation when Sufyan called up that dori’s partner had gone. When Dori
heard that he directly went to his friends and asked me to accompany him. It
was cause I was separated from Sufyan.
I continued my practicing with Dori we get down from sixth terraces to fifth,
forth, third, second, and first terraces. In third terraces we met foreigner
from France. We talked them about Borobudur from the reliefs, statues and
location.
“Announcement! For all of malhikdua’s students who are
doing SOP have together in entrance because we have a special guest from
Barcelona, thank you!”
When Dory and I heard the announcement we directly went to entrance. In
entrance we met our guides and all of our friends.
We were waiting for Mas Joko there. Mas Joko was coming, we welcomed in
entrance. Mas Joko who came from Barcelona was a good, actually his name was
Jacobo but because Indonesian people easier to say Joko, it’s better he said.
He had visited many countries in the world. In every country which he had
visited he was being volunteer. Mas Joko explained all about Borobudur. We
walked around Borobudur.
